A Thanksgiving Message

This Thanksgiving many are burdened by fear, poverty, grief, and despair. The happiness and accomplishments of the past seem to have receded into distant memories. Our expectations have been thwarted. Remorse, paranoia, nostalgia and doubt rule the day. But that is often how Great Conjunction cycles end. The last cycle ended with the dot com crash and Y2K apprehensions that disaster would strike the global community dependent on electronics and computers. 9/11 was just around the corner.

The next cycle begins on Dec 21, less than a month away. This will be the first time the Great Conjunction occurs in Aquarius in hundreds of years. Whatever the new cycle brings it will be much different than what we’ve been experiencing over the last two decades. Consider how different 1980–2000 was from 2000–2020. A new culture will be created. New tools will be available. New cures, new discoveries, and new expectations will be born.

These days many of us are in retreat. We want to flee to safety. We find it hard to imagine how we can be creative again. Ours goals have changed, and so has our definition of success. Surrender to pessimism and defeatism afflict the collective. But we will come out from the dark. We will all find new ways to participate and contribute. Our creativity will be rekindled.

Take some time this Thanksgiving to ponder your future. To imagine what wonders may yet unfold. Rebirth is not an idealistic illusion, it is a reality of every day life. So get some rest. Let bygones be bygones. Release political and personal turmoil. Appreciate those you cherish. Hold space in your heart for the promise of a better future we will all have a chance to create together. Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends.
