Friends, the roller coaster of summer 2022 gets a little more exciting this week as the cross currents are plentiful. Yesterday’s Mercury opposition Saturn influences this weekend and the beginning of the week. This can be a pessimistic, mentally exhausted aspect, given to criticism of self and others, but on the other hand favorable for getting organizing, for resting, for establishing boundaries, and for facing fears with practical measured responses. Today Venus square Chiron is exact in the morning with sun conjunct Jupiter exact mid afternoon. The first can indicate a health crisis caused by romance, socializing, art, film, music events. At the least it describes the continuing tension between pandemics and the desire to mingle. We may see numbers rising as sun trine Jupiter makes everyone eager to socialize and we feel that suddenly the end of July is upon us and we must get some kind of summer experiences before facing fall. With Mercury opposing Saturn we may find people, or a voice within ourselves, that tries to talk us out of taking precautions, as a weakness, or outdated response. Use that opposition instead to be meticulous as you protect yourself and your loved ones.
Mon Aug 1 Mercury inconjunct Neptune is exact in the morning, another aspect associated with health problems in the public sector. More news about the pandemic seems likely. Then Mars conjunct Uranus conjunct the North Node is exact just before 5 PM. This aspect has worried many astrologers. It’s seen as a key moment in the disruption and evolution of matters related to Taurus: food production and distribution, financial matters, and issues around ownership of land. We can expect aggressive outbursts from freeway road rage to possibly acts of mass violence. The war in Ukraine continues to produce shocking news, and there may be shocking actions taken.
Mars rules the masculine side of life, and issues around ambition, anger and libido lead more easily to unexpected actions. A soft sextile from Venus suggests that women and matters associated with the feminine side of life offer a friendlier way forward where choices can be made rather than forced on people. With North Node representing the direction society is taking, where the attention of the collective is drawn, in Taurus it seems likely that the public imagination will be captured by a surprise, this unique combination will ultimately have a liberating influence. Tue Aug 2 Venus sextile Uranus before dawn is followed about an hour later by Mercury inconjunct Pluto. In the early evening Venus sextile Mars is exact. How’s that for a roller coaster? The first is fun-loving, and eager to ignore caution in the pursuit of freedom and pleasure. The second indicates news or events that reveal further issues or a deepening of existing issues in the health sector. The last hearkens back to the first, adding some harmony between the genders and attraction in matters related to romance. Treat these matters with care as Pluto inconjunctions can produce dangerous consequences.
Wed Aug 3 moon inconjunct Neptune is exact in the evening and moon opposition Pluto is exact before midnight. Not a good night for a date or a party. A good night for paying attention to how we can improve our well being. Meditate. Do some research. Get inspired to make healthier choices. Mercury will enter Virgo two minutes before midnight. Mercury rules Virgo, and powers of analysis and organization are amplified, but beware becoming too critical, too picky, and losing the whole point of the thing in the details. This can be a placement that leads to worrying or brooding. Finding a way to love the present moment is better than fearing the future or regretting the past. Fri Aug 5 Venus inconjunct Saturn is exact in the late morning. Another aspect related to health issues. In our own lives we want to take it easy with indulgence this week. Overdoing can lead to consequences with Saturn involved. What messages are you getting about what works and what doesn’t work for your body? Not a good time for public partying as the risk may be greater, but if you must, pay attention to Saturn, take precautions. With this aspect if we throw ourselves into Venus and ignore Saturn we may end up with a Saturn boomerang moment. Enjoy mindfully.
Sat Aug 6 only lunar aspects are exact, a deceptively quiet beginning to a real roller coaster of a weekend. If you make a mistake don’t let it discourage you. As Salvador Dali wrote, “Mistakes are almost always of a sacred nature. Never try to correct them. On the contrary: rationalize them, understand them thoroughly. After that, it will be possible for you to sublimate them.”
Sun Aug 7 Venus trine Neptune is exact in the late morning, usually a fun aspect, fortunate for romance, creativity, fashion, and experiences of spiritual beauty. But Mars square Saturn is exact in the early afternoon. This is a frustrated, pissed off Mars, although possibly exhausted. Suppressed ambition, libido, anger can lead to outbursts of self destructive behavior, even if aimed at others. The combination makes for a potentially unpleasant social environment. To oversimplify, the ladies are in the mood for some dreamy pleasures but the men are angry about practical matters. We can choose the Venus side, but we must respect Mars and Saturn as well. That means realizing the power of our own drives and how they influence our actions, and practicing patience and caution for protection.
Mon Aug 8 sun trine Chiron is exact before dawn. Chiron can represent problems with public health but the trine could indicate a little good news. Most astrologers agree that we’re likely to be stuck with this thing until Pluto in Aquarius, which begins in the Spring of next year. Though relief may not be immediate, we should begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Possibly one of the new vaccines that prevents transmission will arrive, or a consistently effective treatment. Venus opposition Pluto in the late evening can indicate cathartic artistic creativity but also obsessiveness, suspicion, fear, trying to get what you want by force, and possibly unhealthy obsessions with the morbid and criminal. This combination of aspects makes the weekend of the 5th to 7th a challenging environment for fun seekers. Take care.
