All Times Pacific: Astrology Report Feb 13-Feb 22
Friends, we have a very quiet week before us, astrologically speaking, but there are some significant celestial events. Mercury conjunct Pluto continues but is now fading and by the end of this week we will finally get past this difficult aspect. If you’ve been anxious, preoccupied with health issues, feeling extra critical, or obsessive, relief is on the way. Relax away from your troubles. Take a little time off and breathe easier.
Only lunar aspects are exact today, look out for moon opposition Pluto tonight which may amplify the issues of Mercury conjunct Pluto.
Mon Feb 14 Mercury enters Aquarius at 1:54 PM. Mercury in Capricorn can be very productive, practical, and funny, too, but Mercury is much more comfortable in airy Aquarius where there are no limits just horizons to explore. Communicate, share what you’ve been cooking up while Mercury was in Capricorn. Don’t over indulge Valentine’s Day night as moon inconjunct Jupiter can indicate health problems caused by excess.
Tue Feb 15 the only exact aspects are lunar. With three lunar inconjunctions this day, four on the east coast, moderation is necessary for well-being. You may feel pulled in too many directions. Take it easy. Make room for all sides of the issue. Patience and keeping to the mean can provide better results.
Wed Feb 16 Venus conjunct Mars is exact. This is usually an indication of heightened libido and interest in romance but it can also indicate conflict based on gender issues. With both planets in Capricorn romantic aspirations may require patience, loyalty, and a sense of decorum, although Capricorns can get down and dirty, it’s important to make sure everyone is on the same page, as it’s easy to become alienated. Also Feb 16 the full moon in Leo arrives four minutes before 9 AM. The urge to get out there and socialize, to allow free expression of desire for pleasure, but also for ambition, will be strong. But don’t throw caution to the wind. As conditions improve it will be tempting to proceed as though nothing ever happened. We all want to leave the past of afflictions behind us. But conscientious perseverance can help protect not only others but ourselves. If romance is your aim, consider this quote from Krishnamurti: “It is love alone that leads to right action.” But what does he mean by love? Certainly not shallow desire for what excites us, although that, too, can have its place in a well-rounded life. As Krishnamurti said: “You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing, and dance, and write poems, and suffer, and understand, for all that is life.”
Thu Feb 17 one of the most important aspects of the year is exact, Jupiter sextile Uranus. This is especially positive for Aquarius, Sagittarius, Taurus and Pisces. Learn something new, as Krishnamurti said: “Real learning comes about when the competitive spirit has ceased.” Sextiles are not particularly strong aspects but this one can indicate unexpected opportunities for success, liberation through technology or new communities, and there is no doubt that it will amplify the feeling that the worst is over. But we are not sure of that. Many will be moved to reckless disregard for safety with this aspect. There’s a lot of pent up need for excitement, for the new, for freedom after constriction. For best results choose carefully how you work with this aspect. Fun is good, but getting in synch with where the world is taking you is even better. This aspect began around Jan 23 and will be with us until March 11. Keep in mind this quote from Krishnamurti: “Happiness is strange; it comes when you are not seeking it. When you are not making an effort to be happy, then unexpectedly, mysteriously, happiness is there, born of purity, of a loveliness of being.”
Fri Feb 18 the sun enters Pisces, drawing nearer to the end of its cycle around the zodiac and now only a month away from Spring. Sun in Pisces is appropriate for getting in touch with our feelings, for mystical and psychic practices, for looking back over the year and considering where we could have done better. Beware over-doing the escapism of intoxication, nostalgia, brooding over morbid or regretful feelings. You don’t need anyone’s permission to be creative, to define and achieve your goals.
Sat Feb 19-Tue Feb 22 only lunar aspects are exact. The rest of February features mostly pleasant aspects. Take a breath. As Krishnamurti said, “We carry about us the burden of what thousands of people have said and the memories of all our misfortunes. To abandon all that is to be alone, and the mind that is alone is not only innocent but young — not in time or age, but young, innocent, alive at whatever age — and only such a mind can see that which is truth and that which is not measurable by words.”
