Friends, we have before us another week of potential healing and resolution of conflict. Friday’s Venus opposition Neptune can indicate confusion in love and art, but also inspiration and compassion. This can be an aspect of skillful lying, but also of charitable actions. Life can have a dreamy quality, and dreams may help us understand most about ourselves and our world. Try not to over-do intoxication with the Pluto station so near.

Today the new moon in Libra arrives mid-afternoon, a placement that favors partnerships, romance, music, and diplomacy. Practice the art of balance. As James Joyce wrote: “I am tomorrow, or some future day, what I establish today. I am today what I established yesterday or some previous day.”

Tonight Venus trine Pluto is exact in the late evening, the first of three Venus Mercury and Pluto aspects that make the next three days a good time to explore the depths of the psyche, of love, of art, and of communication. Is it time for a change of heart, for a change of mind, or both?

Mon Sep 26 Mercury conjunct Venus is exact with sun opposition Jupiter just after noon. The first makes communication more harmonious, it’s easier to be polite and graceful, romance may be on our minds. The second is another potentially overly optimistic aspect. But it could be key to good things happening. A good time for networking.

Tue Sep 27 Mercury trine Pluto is exact around dawn. In the late evening Mars trine Saturn is exact. The first makes it easier to have those deep conversations, deep research into self and world can help you adjust your trajectory. Take opportunities for small reforms that prevent problems down the line. Slow down. Cut down. Do more of what’s good for you.

Wed Sep 28 only lunar aspects are exact. Although Shelley was a reprehensible sort his writing is enlightening, for example, “Fear not for the future, weep not for the past.”

Thu Sep 29 Venus enters Libra not quite an hour after midnight, adding more harmony, diplomacy, and an attraction to partnership. Be romantic. Be artistic. A good time to work on the graces the pandemic roughed up. As Jakob Boehme wrote: “The sweet quality is set opposite to the bitter, and is a gracious, amiable, blessed and pleasant quality, a refreshing of the life, an allaying of the fierceness. It maketh all pleasant and friendly in every creature; it maketh the vegetables of the earth fragrant and of good taste, affording fair, yellow, white and ruddy colours.”

Fri Sep 30 only lunar aspects are exact. As the Roman poet Horace wrote, “Stop asking what the future holds, and take as a gift whatever the day brings.”

Sat Oct 1 Venus opposition Jupiter is exact in the late morning. Often overly optimistic, indicating over-spending on luxuries, and indulgences especially in the areas of art, food and romance, and sometimes arrogant judgements based on aesthetics, this aspect can also help us refresh our optimism about relationships and the arts. Find reasons to fall in love with life again. A grand cross involving the moon, Mercury retrograde, Neptune and Mars could cause frustrations, especially if Venus opposition Jupiter overdoes it, yet grand crosses can indicate times when despite the habitual confusion of life all the opposing elements seem to find their place and profound and powerful balance is achieved.

Sun Oct 2 Mercury is stationary direct just after 2 AM ending the unnecessarily dreaded Mercury retrograde, which can be an enjoyable and useful time. If you’re getting ready to start something new the astrological weather is more favorable now, but with Saturn and Pluto stations this month, and Saturn square Uranus almost exact, challenges may require patience and persistence.

The following week begins quietly. Midweek an exact Mercury trine Pluto clearly announces Pluto’s intentions, collectively and individually. The opportunity for a deeper understanding or more comprehensive agreement remains possible, but not easy to achieve with Saturn and Uranus so nearly square. Sat Oct 8 Pluto is stationary direct commencing a rest of October that will help us to understand how far we’ve come and how much further we have to go, as Saturn stationary direct and the near exact and final Saturn square Uranus kick up some trouble. How best to deal with it? Be patient. Be humble. Value tranquility over distraction. Get rest. Things may not go as we plan but we can find a rhythm that helps us and others. What’s the rhythm that works for you and yours?

With Saturn very nearly square Uranus have you been seeing foreshadowing signs of Pluto in Aquarius? Here are a few I’ve noticed. California’s new laws that ban gas appliances, improve the ease of battery disposal, and allow a person to choose composting rather than current funerary customs. Car rental giant Hertz buying an electric fleet. Protests in Iran over the death of a young woman arrested because of her headscarf. Protests in Russia against Putin. Young and female voters in America registering at record numbers in reaction to yet another patriarchal monotheist political ploy. Patriarchal monotheistic autocracy is about as Pluto in Capricorn as it gets. The more successful the suppression of rights the more likely revolution when Pluto is in Aquarius.

Putin is a good example of the transit of Saturn in opposition to native Pluto. This aspect often coincides with the effort to use brute force but achieves the opposite of the intended result. This transit continues into next year for Russia’s leader so we can expect to see more examples of backfire. And not only in Russia, but here in the U.S. where the transparency of the technology means that the old politics and business of getting an edge by lying or cheating finds itself confronted with evidence. Just this past week there have been several breakthroughs in medicine that make it seem likely that during Pluto in Aquarius some of the diseases still greatly feared today will be more easily curable. Have you seen any portents of Pluto in Aquarius in your life?
