Friends, we have before us a week of mostly positive aspects. March has been rather quiet astrologically speaking. April will be more challenging, so relax and soak in all the rebirth messages Spring offers. This morning Venus entered Aries. For Librans and Taureans it’s a rebirth all your own as your ruling planet begins a new cycle around the zodiac. Aries, welcome the love, beauty and harmony of your native season.

This afternoon Mercury sextile Uranus is exact, making this a great time for writing, communicating, editing, finding more freedom thanks to new tech. Identify areas of your life that burden you and do some exploring to see if there may a new answer to the problem. Read or watch something different. Have a conversation about how you imagine your future to be.

This evening Mars trine Saturn is exact. This week, into beginning of the following week, is a good time to get an exercise program going. But be gentle. With Mercury square Mars exact soon trying too hard can result in injury. Also be careful of sharp words, and objects, and of erratic driving. Do give some thought to how best to apply your energy. Don’t waste it on the politics of outrage and the raging social media culture war. Do something creative. Think creatively.

Tuesday Mar 23 Mercury square Mars will be exact in the evening. With Mars in Gemini it’s probable that many unnecessary arguments will occur, and a few avoidable accidents. These are most likely to happen if anger, libido, or ambition have been repressed. Don’t react without thinking it over first.

Thursday Mar 25 two minutes before midnight Pacific sun conjunct Venus will be exact. The good thing about this aspect is that it can help us experience the beauties of romance and art. However, given that we are in a pandemic, and the more contagious variant is spreading among younger people, the irresistible call of love and pleasure may be bad timing. The enormous crowds that showed up in Miami for Spring Break do not bode well with Pluto now slowing down as it approaches stationary retrograde April 27.

Sunday March 28 the full moon arrives in Libra, further emphasizing romantic desires and creative partnerships. The urge to socialize will continue to be strong. Avoid unnecessary risks. Be creative cautiously. Explore partnerships in ways that don’t require exposure to danger.

Also Sunday Mar 28 Venus conjunct Chiron is exact. Chiron is related to healing, often healing through crisis. With Venus here we can see how all the romantic tendencies of the first week of Spring could cause a big surge in the pandemic. For those ruled by Venus, or practicing Venusian professions, there could be a crisis of some kind this week that brings about an opportunity for deep healing. This conjunction indicates that enjoying art, music, romance, and being creative in harmonious ways, can help us achieve greater will being.

Monday Mar 29 Mercury conjunct Neptune is exact in the evening. This is a dreamy aspect of serendipity, fantasy, imagination, and inspiration, but also of delusion, confusion, over intoxication, and mental exhaustion. Be sure to ask questions when communicating, don’t make assumptions, don’t assume you know what’s going on. Unfortunately, Neptune rules epidemics and Mercury is how they spread. The conjunction could be another indication of a surge. If so the virus will be gaining traction over the next several weeks. Stay safe.

Tue Mar 30 Venus sextile Saturn will be exact, a good time for organizing your art, and editing your writing. Demonstrate loyalty and respect for boundaries in romantic relationships. If you are an artist learn more about your craft. Consult with a mentor. Reap the rewards of practice.

With Pluto gaining strength daily until April 27, and Saturn square Uranus most of this year, this is not the time to cast off inhibitions and pretend the danger has passed. It does not seem likely that we will see the sort of crisis that we saw recently. For example, when Los Angeles suffered 25,000 positive tests a day (lately it’s been less than a thousand). But it is quite possible that the second half of April will see a significant resurgence of the virus that will cause stricter measures to resume. Play it safe out there.

Ponder this quote by Carl Jung, “Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word ‘happy’ would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. Of course it is understandable that we seek happiness and avoid unlucky and disagreeable chances, the more you deliberately seek happiness the more sure you are not to find it. It is therefore far better to take things as they come along, with patience and equanimity.”
