Friends, we have before us a quiet week of few astrological aspects, dominated by Neptune. The exact aspects this week, including the lunar, are positive, which is quite rare. The only problem is our continuing Saturn square Uranus which could easily brush aside all the good aspects and may cause some form of crisis, conflict, malaise or confrontation. It’s old versus new, tradition versus innovation, the old fashioned responsible way versus technology and the new way of doing things. The past struggles to keep control over the future. Modernization will be the result. There could be a problem concerning water in the news.

The key is to balance Saturn with Uranus. With Saturn in its co-ruler Aquarius there is an unusual opportunity for cooperation between these usually contradictory indicators. Old problems that usurp our lives must be addressed in new ways. Don’t march down the old path until there’s nowhere left to go. Get a good look around. Try a different approach. Don’t be in a rush. Uranus wants everything to change right now! Liberation for all! Saturn wants everything to stay just the way it is. Cherish the simple things. If we emphasize one over the other there is the danger of going off the rails. Above all cultivate tranquility and patience.

Wed March 10 sun conjunct Neptune is exact making this either a tired, confused, even deluded week of mass emotional contagions or a dreamy time of serendipity and liminal moments. Neptune rules pandemics so this could be a bad week as far as spread goes. Not a great time for Spring break or an all star game. Be careful in transit as people will be more confused and spaced out than usual. A good time to give help where you can, and to ask for assistance if you need it. Don’t dwell on negative possibilities. Pay attention to what’s in front of you. If you’re creative this is a great time for work. Don’t worry about editing. Just receive the images and ideas. If you’re into the psychic or mystical side of life this is a good week for exploration but don’t take it too seriously for best results.

Saturday March 13 the new moon in Pisces arrives at 2:21 AM increasing the presence of Neptune. Good news for creative people. Pay attention to dreams, insights, and intuition. The urge to intoxication may be very strong this week. But with Saturn square Uranus take it easy.

Also Saturday Venus conjunct Neptune is exact. On the negative side we can become quite deluded about love and art. But on the positive side romance and creativity can be especially inspired. Musicians, painters, filmmakers, writers, anyone who works with beauty, this is your time to shine. Grand mystical feelings of cosmic consciousness can be yours if you relax and open yourself to appreciating this strange adventure we call reality.

When Daylight Savings Time begins at 2 AM next Sunday Mar 14 we will be six days away from Spring. Everyone feels things can’t improve fast enough, but that’s a hopeful sign. The urgency of Spring begins to stir. The end of the crisis is sensed. But don’t take unnecessary risks. Don’t give up this opportunity for viewing life with the harsh light of the pandemic. Use this time to exercise patience, to meditate, to work on things you may not have time for as life resumes at a new pace. Take some time to remember the past fondly this week. Take some time to daydream about the future, but not while you’re driving. Consider this quote by Lama Yeshe, “There is no miserable place waiting for you, no hell realm, sitting and waiting like Alaska — waiting to turn you into ice cream. But whatever you call it — hell or the suffering realms — it is something that you enter by creating a world of neurotic fantasy and believing it to be real.” Conversely, as the Mangala Sutra says, “A mind unruffled by the vagaries of fortune, from sorrow freed, from defilements cleansed, from fear liberated — this is the greatest blessing.” When you have that state this world is the Buddha world.
