Star Weather Astrological Forecast 3/31–4/6

All times Pacific.
With a solar eclipse in Aries Saturday 3/29 and Neptune entering Aries 3/30 it’s important we give ourselves a chance to experience the new atmosphere. For many there may be a sense of urgency to take action, to advance our purposes, to fight for what we think is right. This goes far beyond the animal spirits of spring. The Aries eclipse opens the door to new ways of expressing our desire to make a mark on the world. The old approach will look ridiculous, inept, old-fashioned. What seemed cutting edge and bold with Neptune in Pisces will be yesterday’s relics to those in tune with Neptune in Aries. Think of it as the contempt of teenagers for the adults who made such a mess of the world. The risk is the tendency to invalidate the good with the bad. The ironic fate that those who defeat or survive a reign of hubris can then create one themselves must be avoided individually and collectively.
Mon 3/31, Tue 4/1, Wed 4/2, Thu 4/3 only lunar aspects are exact. As if to remind us to take a break so we can become more accustomed to our new playing field Walt Whitman wrote: “Re-examine all that you have been told… dismiss that which insults your soul.”
Fri 4/4 we have three aspects that also emphasize Mars. In the morning Saturn sextile Uranus is exact. In the afternoon Mars sextile Uranus is exact. And in the evening Mars trine Saturn is exact. Saturn in Pisces is getting ready to wind it up and move into Aries on May 24. The great culmination continues, the last gasp of the old ways. Uranus in Taurus cares not for our stability or security. New tech and change for change’s sake are ready to sweep away all that we held certain. Somewhere between these two extremes the world will move on, we will adjust amid necessary updates and course correct serious errors in navigation. Saturn sextile Uranus can give us sudden realizations about what’s really going among those who think their power is secure. The job of Uranus is to break up all that nonsense and make vivid again impermanence, rebirth, and the unexpected. Encourage young people.
Mars sextile Uranus can liberate our agency, reveal new ways we can be more effective, unleash our ambitions, our ability to defend what we cherish, and our desires. Explore new tech, look for ways to do things differently. Try something new. Mars trine Saturn gives us the energy to simplify, to let go of what doesn’t work. Energy for learning, practice, mentorship, and discipline. A great trio of aspects for establishing a healthy exercise routine or changing one for the better.
These aspects only add to the Aries urgency to start over, to start fresh, to do what we will, but with Neptune now more closely sextile Pluto the transformation so urgently desired will take time. Pluto will expose the rotten areas of the zeitgeist to liberate a new higher level of collective sentiment. We have Saturn conjunct Neptune not too far ahead, a further dissolving of outdated structures and elites, the battle between facts and propaganda, the possibility of another pandemic emergency, but also a time when masterpieces can be created, and when meditation can be especially powerful. Neptune provides the inspiration, Saturn the ability to capture it so others can partake. Neptune provides the cosmic consciousness, Saturn the discipline to attain simplicity and tranquility.
4/5 only lunar aspects are exact. At a speech given at the Hollywood Palladium 11/18/1961 John F. Kennedy said something that resonates very much with our times: “Now we are face to face once again with a period of heightened peril. The risks are great, the burdens heavy, the problems incapable of swift or lasting solution. And under the strains and frustrations imposed by constant tension and harassment, the discordant voices of extremism are once again heard in the land. Men who are unwilling to face up to the danger from without are convinced that the real danger is from within.” His advice? “Let our patriotism be reflected in the creation of confidence in one another, rather than in crusades of suspicion.”
4/6 sun sextile Jupiter is exact very early in the morning. Then a couple of hours before dawn Venus retrograde trine Mars is exact. The Jupiter sextile gives the weekend a pleasant atmosphere and the trine brings harmony in relationships, art, sports and also the spark of attraction. With all that Mars energy this week it will be an exciting second week of spring. Don’t waste it on arguing with trolls, doom scrolling, proclaiming your joy at the chaos, or getting into unnecessary arguments. Mars, especially when ambition and libido are frustrated, and when we feel we can’t defend ourselves, can be destructive. Take the time to make wise choices. This gift of energy can be put to great use.
ps Mercury retrograde ends tomorrow morning 4/7.
