Friends, we have before us a week that could be compared to a section of roller coaster. The first weekend features Mercury conjunct Pluto gaining strength until exact on Monday. The second weekend involves a volatile exact Mars conjunct Pluto. But midweek Mars sextile Neptune and Venus trine Uranus offer inspiration and perhaps some liberation, too. Audre Lorde wrote: “There is no such thing as a single-issue struggle, because we do not lead single-issue lives. Our struggles are particular, but we are not alone. What we must do is commit ourselves to some future that can include each other and to work toward that future with the particular strengths of our individual identities.”

Sunday 2/4 Mercury enters Aquarius at 9:10 PM, almost exactly conjunct Pluto. We should be getting clear glimpses of some of the themes of the next twenty years of Pluto in Aquarius. Where possible address areas that need repair. Seek help from the community, whether it’s YouTube videos or friends and family. Being more open to the wisdom others can inform and inspire us. Writers and others who communicate through creativity, may want to take care since communications in general may be pointed, cathartic. Disruptions of tech are possible. There may be power struggles, and struggles with power. A few may even have to foil criminal intent. But there is also the possibility of creative breakthroughs, conversations or research that leads to deep healing, realizations of wisdom, and necessary endings but always with beginnings.

Mon 2/5 Mercury square Chiron is exact during the witching hour indicating possible news about health, worry about health, perhaps due to public circumstances, but also messages about how to restore well being. This combination of Chiron and Pluto aspects may give us the opportunity to become much healthier. The sun exactly sextile Chiron before dawn is another indication of a chance for healing this week. About 20 minutes later Mercury conjunct Pluto is exact. This conjunction can indicate suspicion, envy, anger, conflict, so think before speaking, especially if you’re angry. Avoid road rage, your own and others. And don’t take risks driving through storms. Those who may be facing problems that oppress them, even those who don’t meditate regularly, may find relief and realizations by meditating now.

Tue 2/6 only lunar aspects are exact. Virginia Woolf left this very Pluto in Aquarius quote: “Let us never cease from thinking — what is this ‘civilization’ in which we find ourselves? What are these ceremonies and why should we take part in them? What are these professions and why should we make money out of them?”

Wed 2/7 Venus trine Uranus is exact in the early afternoon, followed by Mars sextile Neptune in the late afternoon. This beautiful combination of aspects could make this a special week. The trine promises inspiration to love and art, perhaps provided by new tech, new communities, or new acquaintances. Enjoying art and romance, music and natural beauty can be especially liberating with this aspect. Relationships can get fresh starts. New horizons may be glimpsed, reinvigorating creativity. The sextile indicates a time for charitable actions, romantic attractions, when action and inspiration can be unusually in tune. Together these aspects could suggest memorable intoxicated antics but also profound and even mystical moments. It should be mentioned that any Mars Neptune aspect can indicate trouble with water, especially due to storms.

Thu 2/8 sun sextile Uranus is exact in the wee hours of the morning. Take a different route. Do something routine differently. Look for places where old outworn tech needs replacing. As we experience this week we can accept changes as opportunities, rather than fearing them as threats. Jakob Boehme wrote: “The law of God, and also the way to life, is written in our hearts: It lies in no man’s supposition and knowing, nor in any historical opinion, but in a good will and well-doing.”

Fri 2/9 new moon at 20 degrees Aquarius arrives one minute before 3 PM, with more Aquarian emphasis for February. Some feel the new moon as a turn in energy. The seven days of the dark of the moon were an ending, a time for finishing, and for resting. Now the new moon begins the cycle anew. Audre Lorde wrote: “It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept and celebrate those differences.”

Sat 2/10 Mercury square Jupiter is exact before dawn. The risk this aspect indicates arises from arrogance, over-optimism, big talk that can’t be backed up, and over-doing. We may try to talk someone into something. Or we may waste time enjoying the latest gossip. Squares are like steps and require effort to get the best out of them. By making the effort, and enjoying the optimism of Mercury aspecting Jupiter we can get creative work done. Editing or adjusting course may be required after the fact. We may want to examine our definitions of success.

Sun 2/11 only lunar aspects are exact. An important skill for Pluto in Aquarius will be ability to live with paradox, to see the many sides of complex issues, and to remember it’s okay not to know, as Gertrude Stein said, “There ain’t no answer. There ain’t gonna be any answer. There never has been an answer. That’s the answer.” Being okay with not knowing, while appreciating the mystery of life, is a good beginning.

Mon 2/12 Mars will enter Aquarius and exactly conjunct Pluto the following evening. All eyes on the wars and on all the other conflicts going on, ecological and political. Mars conjunct Pluto can indicate tough terrain, explosive confrontations, the violence of nature, and the nature of violence, and breakdowns in neglected places. We’ll feel this aspect beginning around 2/6 gaining strength until today, then waning until around 2/21. Pluto can indicate tranquility, rebirth, deep meditation, and deep healing. Catharsis through creativity can help us get rid of the lingering aches and pains of Pluto in Capricorn. Avoid conflict. Drive mindfully. Don’t try to force anything. Be careful with sharp or otherwise dangerous objects, situations, and people, especially if you or they are angry, if your or their ambitions are frustrated, or desires have gone unfulfilled. But this is a good aspect for repairs, reforms, learning how to be more effective, protecting boundaries, finding true healing, and for rebirth after a time of struggle.
