All times Pacific.
The cycle that began when Venus last entered Aries 4/25/2024 ends this week and with Venus in the final degree of Pisces we have an atmosphere of culmination, ending, surrender to futility, or fear of the future, especially in relationships, creativity and all matters pertaining to Venus. Fed up people may turn pessimistic about love and life. Fantasies of taking matters into our own hands only feed the cycle of outrage and depletion. Show some support where appropriate. Express the love you feel. Help out without having to be asked. As Manly Palmer Hall wrote: “If a woman dreams true, and shares her dream with the men who are close to her, these same men will find their greatest joy and sense of completeness in the service of her vision. It has always been so, and will always be so.”
This week a new cycle begins for Venus, lasting around 225 days, so prepare to renew perspective, to find new opportunities, and there’s potential for a fresh start in romance and creative work. Aries is all about the outdoors. Venus now adds her charm to the feeling that spring is out there no matter the challenges we face. Enjoy nature. If you play sports watch out for aggro competitors and avoid unnecessary injury by measuring your ferocity. This in not a good time to unleash it.
Mon 4/28 and Tue 4/29 only lunar aspects are exact. As the wretched human being but sublime poet Shelley wrote: “O, wind, if winter comes, can spring be far behind?”
Wed 4/30 Venus enters Aries 10:16 AM. Venus has been in Pisces since 3/28, where she is exalted. But today that Venus is over. There’s a new Venus cycle in town. Can you leave behind what happened in the last cycle, or do you want to celebrate and sustain it? Do you think you deserve love? Is there enough beauty, music and art in your life? That may sound crazy given the current collective alarm but it’s an essential skill we can learn. We can take action to help or inform. We can can keep informed ourselves. But to keep going along the way we’ll need to daily moments of joy in life.
Thu 5/1 Wishing you a beautiful Beltane, with Venus very nearly conjunct Neptune this could be a dreamy and even mythic holiday of love and creativity. However with Mars still opposing almost stationary Pluto, we want to be careful about intoxicants, including rose colored glasses.
Fri 5/2 Venus conjunct Neptune is exact. You want to be with the one you love tonight. Or you may dream of them. Artists can tune into the finer spectrum of the imagination. Love can inspire a glimpse of cosmic consciousness with Venus conjunct Neptune. A fortuitous meeting could happen, actual serendipity, but we do have Pluto almost stationary retrograde opposed by Mars fading but potentially explosive until 5/9. The Pluto station intensifies the Pluto side of this aspect. People with repressed Mars areas of life: desires, anger, ambition, competition, may act out in regrettable ways. This aspect can also indicate a good time for reform and repair, for clearing out and starting over, for putting real energy and dedication into healing instead of hurting ourselves with chronic anger and fear.
For those who must act out the energy offered by this opposition do it playfully and with permission or things could go seriously awry. Those who thought they could disregard all the rules and will into existence the fantasy of a community that flatters their hubris can confront particularly difficult challenges with this opposition. Pluto forces Mars to see itself as others do. Pluto asks Mars to show how it actually serves the common good. Lies won’t stop Pluto. Pluto, nicknamed the Grinder, is slow and inevitable. You can usually see what’s brewing as it slowly demands more attention. Denial or refusal don’t move Pluto. It’s time for conscientious hard work improving self and society. Pick something small to start. Establish a good habit or dump a bad one. Choose how to let out this fierce energy, rather than being victimized by its uncontrollable eruption.
Sat 5/3 only lunar aspects are exact. “For to be poised against fatality, to meet adverse conditions gracefully, is more than simple endurance; it is an act of aggression, a positive triumph.” Thomas Mann
Sun 5/4 Pluto is stationary retrograde at 8:27 AM. What will Pluto stationary show us this time? It will be an Aquarius lesson. Something to do with technology perhaps, but it may also have to do with community action. As Pluto backtracks until 10/14 we’ll be revisiting the issues raised since January 2024. Things may get bogged down, or break down, and important big picture ambitions may run into all sorts of obstacles.
In our own lives we take a look at areas where we might see signs of potential trouble. This would not be the right time to ignore them. Pluto is about healing, rebirth, liberation, depth, transmutation, and even tranquility and the still joy of epiphany. It can be a time to work out issues, but not too recklessly, with Mars still opposing. It’s the right time to face our shadows, to really get in touch with anger, desire, ambition, and to find a way to reboot them to serve a higher good for ourselves and others.
The following week again has few aspects but this time they are all worth looking forward to. As MPH wrote: “The way of heaven can be known and experienced through the heart.” During stressful times the mind tends to run away with us, searching for justifications for apprehension. Make time for intuition. Tend the flame of love in your heart and in the hearts of everyone you cherish. In our society feeling is thought to be inferior to thinking, but our hearts can lead us to wisdom deeper than any conceived by our minds. Living a soulful life is especially important during times like these.
