Star Weather Astrology Forecast 5/12–5/18

All times Pacific.
We have another quiet week, astrologically speaking, with few aspects. However two of this year’s big astrological events are just around the corner. From 5/12–5/26 Saturn will be in the final degree of Pisces, as the almost conjunction of Saturn and Neptune draws near. The last degree of any sign can indicate culmination, endings, holding on too long, melancholy, pessimism, the disillusionment of blind faith, and the regretful nostalgia of the end of a cycle.
But the last degree of Pisces is especially so since it’s the last degree of the zodiac thus emphasizing the qualities of Saturn and Pisces. We’ve got two weeks of a critical moment in history. Meditate even if you normally don’t. It will be worth it. Do it steadily and you’ll be glad you did. Collectively expect to see some events that ring with an undeniable symbolic value. The weakness of the once powerful on display, limits defined with the finality of a metaphoric collision, the piercing of illusions. Don’t get carried away with the doom and gloom vibes. We’re in the midst of a long process.
The typical themes of Saturn Neptune conjunctions are already in the air: potential pandemics in the news, water disasters, scarcity, the depressed malaise of the collective realizing the full extent of the damage done. Individually it’s a low energy year or so ahead. A bad time to rely on intoxicants. Only use them with moderation as this conjunction can indicate consequences of addiction, but also attaining sobriety. Resist the urge to resonate with the pessimistic atmosphere. What’s good about this aspect, you ask? Work hard and capture inspiration in a masterpiece. Meditation is especially powerful and deep. An excellent time to study the mystical, psychical, paranormal, and fantastical. Compassion, simplicity, honesty, loyalty, silence, study, practice but also daring to dream and to follow dreams, not only to learn from them, but to heal and transform one’s life and therefore the lives of those near and dear to us.
With Pluto dwelling in its degree of station until 7/7 we’ve got a slow incremental build up of tension, friction, and the possibility of breakdowns and power struggles. But also a time for deep healing, for catharsis, and understanding the shadow side of our motivations. Observe carefully. Cultivate tranquility. Know when to unplug for regeneration.
Mon 5/12 the full moon in Scorpio is exact 4 minutes before 10 AM. About a half an hour later Mercury square Pluto is exact. On the one hand we have an opportunity to come to a better understanding of what Pluto is trying to teach us. Follow your intuition to a book, video or conversation that helps you understand how to proceed in harmony with the necessary evolution of daily life. But be careful how you communicate. Sharp words could create lasting resentment and regret. Don’t get into a bicker fight that leads to a litany of wrong doing from the beginning. It’s a symptom of the stress we’re all living with these days, and of the hypnosis of seeing bicker fights every day online and in our politics.
Tue 5/13, Wed 5/14, Thu 5/15, Fri 5/16 only lunar aspects are exact. Maya Angelou wrote: “Find a beautiful piece of art. If you fall in love with Van Gogh or Matisse or John Oliver Killens, or if you fall love with the music of Coltrane, the music of Aretha Franklin, or the music of Chopin — find some beautiful art and admire it, and realize that that was created by human beings just like you, no more human, no less.”
Sat 5/17 sun conjunct Uranus is exact in the late afternoon. Mercury square Mars is exact in the evening. This is a difficult combination. Both the conjunction and the square are restless, impulsive and accident prone. So be careful to avoid erratic moves and keep an eye out for erratic moves by others. You may have to take a detour literally or metaphorically and there could be a surprise or even a shock in store over the weekend. Try doing things differently. Try something new. Think outside your box. Try to enjoy the unexpected instead of being startled when inevitable change disturbs the status quo. This conjunction can help us get a fresh start, especially with Jupiter conjunct Chiron tomorrow.
Sun 5/18 Jupiter conjunct Chiron is exact in the morning. The warning of this conjunction is to avoid over indulgence because the consequences might be especially unpleasant since Chiron often brings crisis before healing. You may be able to find unexpected help where healing is concerned, physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. Seek to associate with the aristocracy of spirit, as the Betty books called the cream of culture. Instead of listening to the latest or a favorite historical outrage listen to Walt Whitman, Beethoven, Charlie Parker, or Maya Angelou, spend time with wonders that lift your spirit and nourish your soul.
May 30 Saturn enters Aries. This is the third of the four big astrological changes we’ve been waiting for. First we got Pluto in Aquarius last November. Then Neptune in Aries. The fourth occurs 7/7 when Uranus enters Gemini. During the latter half of June, Uranus will be in the final degree of Taurus. We can expect some dramatic endings and perhaps revelations about what was supposed to be oh so hi tech. Uranus in Gemini means a time when information is everything and both sides of issues are examined.
Pace yourself, take your time, as we acclimate to the new placements. We will be revisiting Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, and Gemini in Taurus. Saturn enters Aries for the duration on 2/13/2026. Uranus enters Gemini for real on 4/26/2026. Neptune stays in Aries as of 1/26/2026. As you can see by this time next year we will be in an entirely different astrological atmosphere from where we were when Pluto was in Capricorn (since 2008), Neptune was in Pisces (since 2011), Uranus in Taurus (since 2018), and Saturn in Pisces (since 2023). Seven years of the three outermost planets in water and earth signs is step by step changing to air and fire signs. Endings are becoming beginnings. So take it easy. As Dylan said, “The times they are a-changin’.”
