Star Weather Astrology Forecast 5/5–5/11

All times Pacific.
Pluto dwells in the degree of its station from 3/6 until 7/7 which is also the day Uranus leaves Taurus for Gemini. Taureans prepare to breathe a sigh of relief. There will be a return to Uranus in Taurus at the end of this year but Uranus in Gemini takes over in 2026. When the outer planets dwell in the degree of their stations there can be a feeling of doldrums, of a sailing ship at sea without wind. The energy of the planet in question seems to intensify and can become unbearable near the end of the ordeal. This is especially true with Pluto. There are lessons to be learned, taught by the universe. The sooner we learn them the better so we can enjoy the good side of Pluto: liberating catharsis, integrating shadow, rebirth, tranquility, deep healing, the power to make changes that serve a greater good instead of only ourselves. This can be as simple as providing a good example during stressful times like these. Be a light unto the world.
Look back to early March for important issues that may have come up then and that may require attention now. Hopefully you’ve made adjustments, repairs, reforms, and let go of the past with an awakening sense of serving the common good in whatever way is natural for you. We’ve got more than two months of this station ahead of us, but we’ve got almost two months behind us. What an opportunity for transcending our limitations. With Pluto we are seldom surprised, we can usually seeing the problem for some time. Ignoring it can cause a severe reaction. Meditation can be helpful during times like these. If you don’t like meditating find some quiet solitude and appreciate the moments that make life worth living. Don’t just feed your eyes and brain, feed your heart and soul.
Pluto will be overshadowing this week and every week until 7/7. The news will become more intense. Pluto can be about scandals, crime, disaster, conspiracy, power struggles so the circus may get wilder over the next couple of months. Now is a good time to focus on getting the best out of the less dominant aspects that come and go sometimes in just a few days. We can easily miss them if we get absorbed in Pluto’s mass paranoia or vividly reported carnage. This week has few aspects but for the first time in a long while all the aspects are good.
Mon 5/5 Mercury sextile Jupiter is exact in the late morning. This sextile is with us all weekend and early this week. It can indicate opportunity, good news, a reason for optimism, a fortunate meeting. Great time for writing and other forms of communication. Take time to express appreciation to those you love. Compliment what you admire. Kind words are especially powerful during uncertain times. Walt Whitman wrote: “Clear and sweet is my soul, and clear and sweet is all that is not my soul.”
Tue 5/6 Venus sextile Pluto is exact mid-afternoon. Venus gives us insight into what Pluto is trying to teach us individually and collectively. Art can be especially moving with this aspect. Romance may be drawn toward intense scenarios, even power struggles. These Mercury and Jupiter sextiles are great for creativity as the Pluto station helps us to go deep. With Mercury conjunct Chiron this evening the early part of the week may bring messages from our bodies about areas requiring attention. Chronic stress revs our minds and harms us. Do some research about how to heal your discomforts. Have a conversation with a healer if you have a minor but chronic situation. Pluto can help us to strengthen weaknesses, change habits, and avoid bigger trouble down the line.
Wed 5/7, Thu 5/8 and Fri 5/9 only lunar aspects are exact. Virginia Woolf wrote: “Blame it or praise it, there is no denying the wild horse in us. To gallop intemperately; fall on the sand tired out; to feel the earth spin; to have — positively — a rush of friendship for stones and grasses, as if humanity were over, and as for men and women, let them go hang — there is no getting over the fact that this desire seizes us pretty often.”
Sat 5/10 Mercury enters Taurus at 5:15 AM. Our thought turn to security and comfort, to getting what we want. With shortages imminent Mercury shows us what Uranus in Taurus has created. We don’t want to panic but we also don’t want to ignore the news about empty ports and fewer truck hours. Here we are at the beginning of the Saturn Neptune conjunction that will be exact early next year, often a time of scarcity and economic contraction, a collective depression emotionally if not financially. This conjunction can also indicate water disasters, Katrina last time, and also droughts and pandemics. So there’s plenty to worry about. Fortunately Saturn Neptune conjunctions make meditation all the more powerful. Our studies of religion, spirituality, the paranormal, the occult and mysticism can teach profound lessons that this particular astrological weather favors. I would expect renewed interest in Christianity, and renewed efforts to impose it on others.
Sun 5/11 watch out for moon square Mars late morning on Mother’s Day. With Mercury square Pluto exact tomorrow regrettable words might be spoken. Long simmering problems could turn into bitter arguments. Hold the sarcasm at family dinner. Forgive the sharp words of the stressed out and even the deluded. Offer the tranquility of Pluto to the family conversation and express deep gratitude to mom during trying times. Look to cultivate the deep peacefulness that Pluto offers those who understand the lessons of impermanence and rebirth. As Frances Wright wrote: “It is in vain that we would circumscribe the power of one half of our race, and that half by far the most important and influential.”
