All times Pacific
Monday 6/9 Mercury square Saturn is exact during the witching hour just before 4 AM, indicating a depressed, overly critical atmosphere where it’s hard to appreciate the small things but easy to delineate reasons for concern. With Venus square Pluto exact late morning relationships, finances, and creative projects could take a hit. Adjustments may be necessary. Don’t let Mercury square Saturn’s pessimism defeat you. Use these squares for a deep look at the areas in your life that aren’t working. Put in the effort and you may be able to organize or simplify your way to improvement.
Also 6/9 Jupiter leaves Gemini for Cancer at 2:02 PM. Reason to celebrate if Jupiter is your chart ruler, you have a Sagittarius sun, ascendant, midheaven or stellium. Jupiter has been in its detriment in Gemini where it has been since 5/25/2024. Look back at themes related to finances, prosperity, generosity, governance, higher education, these areas of life have been entangled in opposing opinions, paradoxes, and contradictions. Cancer is Jupiter’s sign of exaltation. Now is the time for Jupiter and Sagittarius to shine. Most of us will become more interested in how we feel, family and home than the compulsive information gathering of the last year or so. Sylvia Plath wrote: “Remember, remember, this is now, and now, and now. Live it, feel it, cling to it. I want to become acutely aware of all I’ve taken for granted.”
Also 6/9 Mercury square Neptune is exact early afternoon indicating potential challenges to our good intentions and carefully thought out plans if we become lackadaisical, or distracted by nostalgia, or simply by a good movie, or by intoxication. Neptune can also indicate inspiration and psychic intuition. The key is to make room for all of these squares. We can be analytical, go deep into areas of our lives where love is missing, to awaken it where we can. Perhaps we need to update our definition of love. Be open to subtle insights. With Saturn square Neptune less than half a degree from conjunct these Mercury squares to Saturn and Neptune make this a time to talk about, research, study, and muse about what Saturn and Neptune intend to teach us over the next year or so. Since both planets can indicate meditation, let’s all take the hint.
Tue 6/10 Mars trine Chiron is exact not longer after midnight. Trines are usually considered positive, although they can be harmful if we lean into excess. Trines involving Chiron can indicate crisis in health issues. For individuals it’s a good time to take action toward healing, for example, beginning a gentle exercise program, yoga is especially good with Saturn conjunct Neptune. Look at the Mars areas of life. Desires, anger, ambition can bring healing now, especially if we respect the needs of everyone involved, not only our own. Mercury inconjunct Pluto is exact mid-morning. This too can indicate issues around health, especially when neglect is involved. Listen to what your body is trying to tell you. Do some research. Take care in communication to avoid overwhelming others with shock or trauma related reflections.
Wed 6/11 the Strawberry full moon in Sagittarius is exact at 12:44 AM. Don’t give up on optimism and independence, as this forecast reveals, Sagittarius is about to emerge from a cocoon of multiple challenging aspects. Mercury sextile Venus is exact early afternoon. Sextiles are not as dramatic as trines, squares and oppositions, but this sextile offers grace in communication, conversations about art, romantic words, and pleasant times with friends. Perhaps make time for such pleasantries deliberately. A good aspect for bringing greater beauty and detail to creative projects.
Thu 6/12, Fri 6/13, and Sat 6/14 only lunar aspects are exact. James Baldwin wrote: “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
Sun 6/15 Mars square Uranus is exact before 3 AM and Jupiter square Saturn is exact in the morning. The first square can be erratic, accident prone, and even violent, especially where anger, desires and/or ambition have been thwarted or ignored. Yet it also indicates an opportunity for liberating those areas of life by trying something different, benefiting from new tech, or exploring communities with more interest in the future than the past.
This week’s Jupiter Saturn square is not the biggest square, or biggest Jupiter square in June, that happens the following week when Jupiter squares Neptune. This is the last time around for Jupiter square Saturn, another reason for Sagittarians to celebrate. Not only has Jupiter in Gemini been a challenge but Saturn has been constricting the progress and even joy Jupiter can indicate. This square began in the summer of 2024. It ends 7/11. Austerity, prohibitions (see Texas), tightened budgets, pessimism defeating optimism, are themes of Jupiter square Saturn. But these challenges help us refine our definitions and strategies for success and happiness. We find out what really matters to us.
The third week of June includes Jupiter square Neptune (which ends 7/16) another reason for Sagittarians to feel relief, as Neptune may have confused, dissolved and delayed best intentions). But the way isn’t quite clear yet as Jupiter has a challenge from Mars and then Pluto just around the corner. This is a great time for gathering inspiration, and for meditation. Put some effort into the spiritual and charitable sides of life. The need to succeed can be made more soulful and compassion can ennoble prosperity. This week also features a rough time for Mars, with Mars inconjunct Saturn then Neptune, and then Pluto. Karma is on the way involving that Saturn Neptune conjunction, and those who have tried to force a way to victory may find rude awakenings. In our own lives we should give attention to bringing healthier habits to the Mars areas of life. This can help us get back energy that has been lost to unhealthy preoccupations.
The fourth week of June includes Jupiter inconjunct Pluto and sun inconjunct Pluto with Saturn only about half a degree from exactly conjunct Neptune. All these inconjunctions involving big planets could indicate a pandemic in the news or another public health problem, although continued economic uncertainty and market gyrations are certain. So as you can see we want to take it easy during the second half of June. Happily, some positive aspects and quiet days give us respite during these challenging times. The longest day of the year is just ahead and then on 7/7 Uranus will leave Taurus for Gemini. At that point Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto will all have moved into new signs indicating a very different zeitgeist. We’ll talk about that soon.
