All times Pacific.

Friends, we have a relatively quiet week ahead, astrologically speaking, but with Mars still in the degree of its station and opposing Pluto it may not seem that way. We’ve seen an event in the killing of a CEO that reflects Mars opposition Pluto rage, as well as Pluto in Aquarius’s revolutionary extremism, the Terror of the French Revolution occurred with Pluto in Aquarius. Of course, this doesn’t mean that everyone going out will encounter conflict. But perhaps someone who reads this will be a little more cautious, and will avoid unnecessary trouble.

December, the first week of January, and next April in particular are times when we may see more news about violence, especially violence that shows us areas of society that require serious repair and reform. Avoid hostile encounters. Drive with extra caution as road rage will be more likely than usual, and with Neptune to dwell in the degree of its station until 2/1 intoxication and confusion may also pose threats. Neptune stations can indicate problems with water such as flooding or contamination, but here in late Pisces it’s a sign of malaise. Yet it can also indicate imagination and inspiration

We have another striking example of Pluto in Aquarius in recent events in South Korea where the president declared martial law. Within days the effort failed, not defeated by violence but by highly effective collective action, a higher expression of the potential of Mars opposition Pluto in Aquarius. The leader of the president’s own party has called for his impeachment.

Sunday 12/8 only lunar aspects are exact. Euripides wrote: “Friends show their love in times of trouble, not in happiness.”

Mon 12/9 only lunar aspects are exact. Sophocles wrote: “One word frees us of all the weight and pain in life. That word is love.”

Tue 12/10 sun trine Chiron is exact in the late morning. Good news related to public health is possible. In our own lives this is a good time to ponder what activities nourish our life force, and which bad habits deplete it. Small adjustments can have big results when we notice how what we think, feel, eat and drink, and how the environment around us, impacts our well being.

Wed 12/11 only lunar aspects are exact. William James wrote: “Why should we think upon things that are lovely? Because thinking determines life. It is a common habit to blame life upon the environment. Environment modifies life but does not govern life. The soul is stronger than its surroundings.”

Thu 12/12 Venus opposition Mars is exact about a quarter to 3 AM, Mercury sextile Venus is exact at about a quarter to midnight. The Venus Mars opposition can indicate attraction, especially with flirty Mercury there to lighten up the opposition. But with Venus still loosely conjunct Pluto conflict could easily be triggered by topics such as politics. There’s a way that these aspects could indicate a memorable romp, but also a way they could indicate a regrettable argument.

Fri 12/13 only lunar aspects are exact. Goethe wrote: “Magic is believing in yourself, if you can do that, you can make anything happen.”

Sat 12/14 only lunar aspects are exact. Bell Hooks wrote: “Every terrorist regime in the world uses isolation to break people’s spirits.” If you’re feeling discouraged or lonely reach out to a friend. If you haven’t heard from someone you care about for awhile, see how they’re doing.

Sun 12/15 the full moon in Gemini arrives at 1:02 AM. Saturday night conversations may go on longer than expected but perhaps shouldn’t delve too deeply. Sun inconjunct Uranus is exact in the early morning indicating possible health concerns, perhaps due to nervousness, apprehension, fear of the future, or delays and unexpected events. Be patient. Frustration can easily spill over into anger with Mars now heading back into opposition with Pluto just in time for New Year’s Eve. Mercury is stationary direct at 12:56 PM. If you’ve been dealing with details that take more time or effort than they should be patient. Take it easy. Slow down. With Mercury stationary it’s a good time to think things through, to raise our awareness of our weaknesses but also a time to recognize potential. Emilia Pardo Bazán wrote: “God punishes sins, but the world I see only punishes lack of foresight….”
