All times Pacific.

Saturday’s Saturn retrograde station dwells in the degree of its station until 7/22 making this a rather Saturnian beginning to summer. Keep things simple. Get rest. Establish good habits. Meditate. Saturn can be fun, funny and can indicate success but only after all our lessons have been learned, and Saturn has so many lessons to teach: impermanence, humility, dedication, study, practice, mastery, mentorship, just to name a few.

Sunday 6/30 only lunar aspects are exact. Watch out for moon square Pluto in the morning. If underlying issues have been ignored there could be flare ups. Reform or repair may be the way to go. But Pluto can also indicate the tranquility of transcendence. When an eager and generous student complained desperately to Max Heindel about being unable to contact her late husband and receiving no indications from him, Heindel told her to drop a pebble in a pond. When she returned he asked her if she had been able to see the bottom of the pond before she dropped the pebble in. She had. And after? She could see only the ripples in the water. He explained that her overwhelming motions were like pebbles in the pond. With Saturn stationary retrograde it’s easy to look at the darker side of things. More optimistic perspectives seem trite.

Mon 7/1 only lunar aspects are exact. Jean Houston wrote: “We all have the extraordinary coded within us, waiting to be released.”

Tue 7/2 Neptune is stationary retrograde at 3:40 AM. Neptune will dwell in the degree of its station until 9/3 making for a heavy Neptune summer. You’ll be hearing this reminder again, especially around holidays, be careful around water, and be careful with intoxication. The application of the Gish gallop is a tool of rhetoric used to make an opponent look dumbfounded and confused. An avalanche of lies, deflections, half-truths and non sequitors, it’s a tool deployed by Serkov and other cynics in the court of Putin to make a farce of politics, which scares the populace in the desired direction. Watch for more propaganda tricks from both sides. Mercury trine Neptune is exact before dawn. Dreams and creative inspiration this week could be inspiring. Mercury leaves Cancer for Leo at 5:50 AM, just in time for the 4th of July that feeling of summer is in the air. Sometimes this placement can indicate putting to much ego in communication, and with Mercury opposition Pluto exact tomorrow sharp words could lead to regret. This evening’s exact Venus trine Saturn can help us be graceful and indicates a good time for editing and organizing creativity, or enjoying quiet romance.

Wed 7/3 Mercury opposition Pluto is exact about 30 minutes after midnight. If you’ve been suppressing a complaint this aspect indicates the kind of angry outburst that becomes inevitable when necessary changes are ignored. This opposition may indicate that we are asked to change our minds, or at least to examine whether we should. Our thoughts may be given to suspicion or criticism, apprehension or compulsion if we refuse to study the results of our intentions. A good aspect for researching health and healing.

Thu 7/4 only lunar aspects are exact. With moon inconjunct Pluto exact in the mid-afternoon some may feel emotionally out of sorts. Instead of getting caught up in conflict use the opportunity to practice silence and inner serenity. Gertrude Stein wrote: “It’s awfully important to know what is and what is not your business.”

Fri 7/5 Mars sextile Saturn is exact just after midnight indicating energy for organizing and simplifying. A good time to establish some sort of exercise habit. A good time to take stock of how we’re doing around the issues of ambition, desire, and anger. The New moon in Cancer arrives at 3:57 in the afternoon making for a dreamy family oriented atmosphere for the long holidary. Venus square Chiron is exact in the late evening, keep an eye on mom. This is not a good time for exhaustion or stressing out mom with dire or manic prognostications based on the latest polls. Borges wrote: “Democracy is an abuse of statistics.”

Sat 7/6 only lunar aspects are exact. With moon opposition Pluto in the evening we really want to avoid power struggles involving mom and other female family members or friends, and all those indicated by the moon and Venus.

Sun 7/7 only lunar aspects are exact. Rumi wrote: “That which is false troubles the heart, but truth brings joyous tranquillity.”

Mon 7/8 Venus sextile Uranus and Mercury sextile Jupiter are exact. With Saturn and Neptune stationary it would be easy to miss out on these two lovely sextiles. The first indicates at least pleasant surprises and perhaps liberating experiences of creativity and love. The second indicates conversations, research and communications that can lead to opportunities for joy, success, generosity. Of course with a razor sharp focus on pessimism these sextiles have no chance. Utilize them as a bit of a holiday from the Saturn Neptune gloom.
