A lecture by Ronnie Pontiac at the Philosophical Research Society in the 1980s. A general view of transcendentalism in America, broadly defined as participation in beliefs and practices that awaken, purify and enlighten the soul, among the benefits of which is said to be a better individual destiny.

At the time this was recorded I was much under the sway of my teacher’s influence and like him I believed in American Exceptionalism. Also my own father had been a slave and war refugee when he came to America where he worked his way up to a modicum of prosperity. He didn’t think that could have happened anywhere else in the world.

These days l believe all nations are exceptional and abominable each in its own way, just like the human beings that make them up. I do continue to believe in the greater potentials of individuals and nations.

Also, the solar eclipse is a good time to ponder the Secret of the Golden Flower. In this my 6th interview with the great Jeffrey Mishlove I share some useful insights and practices for awakening the awareness of the higher soul. It may sound woo woo but it is an inheritance that belongs to every single one of us, an unavoidable realization we are all destined to attain.
